African leaders have tried so much to bring development and dynamism into their land. One of the most prominent kingdoms in Ghana, the Ashanti Kingdom, has, over the years, has proven to have substantial success in this line of action.
This month, Asantehene will be in Washington, DC, to help project developmental initiatives of his kingdom. From Monday, August 24 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, the foundation will convene distinguished top figures across the Washington metropolitan region for a chain of impactful business gatherings. The week includes a two-day business summit, an awards ceremony to be held in the United States for the first time in its 25-year history.
The traditional ruler of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will lead the Millennium Excellence Week. This brings him across a variety of business and cultural events intended to bring together African leaders and investors in the diaspora. This creates an opportunity to advertise some business ventures and development projects in the Ashanti Kingdom.
Some US-based Ghanaian organizations, which includes U Dance Arts International, USA, have been invited to help amplify this worthy course. This particular recognition is a very valuable and effective encouragement and a medium for exposure.
The proposition of the royal pageantry: Africa’s future can be financed, built and shaped with the help of a global Black diaspora whose political, cultural and financial power has rarely been organized around investment at this scale.
During Millennium Excellence Week, the message will be difficult to miss: building a real Wakanda will require more than imagination. It will require capital, narrative change, institutions, infrastructure—and a stronger bridge between Africa and its descendants abroad.
The Africa Business Summit at MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino, where organizers hope to convert conversations about Africa’s potential into at least $500,000,000 in structured capital commitments. It will culminate with the Akwasidae Kese Festival at Bowie State University, bringing one of the Asante Kingdom’s most sacred celebrations into the heart of America.
The likes of this project have helped in closing the gap and creating an enviable relationship between Africa and the African community in the diaspora. That is what Otumfuo Osei Tutu II envisioned for the upcoming visit to Washington. Tomorrow is pregnant for the overwhelming impact, which will be achieved when this remarkable agenda is sustained.
