  • I Dedicated Some Segments Of My Event To Promote The Ga Culture – Jeffrey Nortey

Ghanaian comedian and actor Jeffrey Nortey has opened up on his conscious effort to use all available platforms to promote his ethnic culture.

The extremely talented comedian, despite the heavy downpour in most parts of the capital, filled the National Theatre with the second edition of his comedy special, Three Faces of Jeffrey Nortey.  There was a significant improvement in all aspects as compared to the previous edition.

The highly patronized event, which came off on the night of Saturday, June 14, 2025, basically has the live display of the three major roles played by the comedian in his comedy skits. The various versions of the comedian’s trademark acts, which features Kpakpo, Hello Brown, and the people’s favorite, Dragon got every eyeball glued to the stage throughout the performance period.

Speaking to Ms. Shida of Gada TV after the mind-blowing event, Jeffrey revealed his satisfaction with the presence of the people from the Ga communities.  He revealed the fact that he dedicated some segments of the event to advocate for the use of the language.   “I am also playing my role. So if there is any help to be offered, I have my arms widely open,” the comedian added.

The night was filled with mind-blowing comic displays from Jeffrey Nortey.  This had the audience release stress with some uncontrollable hearty laughter all night long.  The Ghanaian comedy industry, as usual, were in their number to offer various support to one of their own.  Jeffrey Nortey also had an acoustic session, where he had everyone in the auditorium sing along to some traditional music.  Cartel Big J of the defunct legendary Ghanaian music group Praye was on stage to feed the audience with some throwback hit songs.

Touching on the fear of the rains having a negative impact on the show, the man of the moment made it clear that he was very calm.  “If it is dry, and people pull through, it is a cliche.  But if it is raining and people pull through,  the conversation is going to be ‘Na e dey rain, but still..’  That is how God wants it to go.  God is very dramatic,” he explained.

We obviously have fewer Ga indigens staying afloat in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.  It is time to have some plans to widespread the rich culture of the tribe through the talents of the people.   It will be impactful to have influential institutions such as the Ga Traditional Council to help in elevating the talents that emerge from their communities.

The collective responsibility of the Ga communities in promoting the talents in the entertainment space such as  Jeffrey Nortey, DKB, Shatta Wale, King Promise, Cina Soul, Aklerh, Bakid, just to mention a few will create an enabling environment for the birth many supersters from within.
